Lovanio: Incontro di studio “The Changing Profile of Catholic Church Institution” (28 febbraio 2014)

The Changing Profile of Catholic Church Institutions
Abstract
It seems clear that institutional reform is a priority for Pope Francis. Changes in the Roman Curia suggest that a new profile of central government may be emerging. The lecture will look at the calling and mission of the Roman Curia: the service it renders to the Pope and the service it provides to the wider Church. The new Pope has given a significant role to an inner council of Cardinals, the G-8. Are other models of Church government emerging which might be explained by the new Pope’s Jesuit heritage and experience? These are among the questions Father Daly hopes to address in his lecture on Church institutions at a time of transition.
